Guilt-Free Draft
A Canmore brew pub expands its offerings.

At Canmore’s Grizzly Paw Brewing Company the shining silver taps dispense such fanciful concoctions as Beavertail Raspberry Ale, Randy Goat Pilsner and Mooseknuckle Stout. But lately some of the brew pub’s offerings have more prosaic names: root beer, cream soda, grape and orange. The brewmaster says the decision to make “hand-crafted sodas” was “a no-brainer—it’s all the same equipment as brewing beer.” The pub also bottles its ginger beer and black cherry cola. All sodas are caffeine-free and have one-third the sugar of regular pop. The sodas on tap are bottomless, so you can drink all you want for $3.50. And, the occasional belch aside, that means you won’t end up embarrassing yourself. Just try that with Mooseknuckle Stout.
