Inspiration

5 things that inspire Heather Draper of Bespoke Design in Victoria.
Fortuny lamps I first saw a Fortuny at Arnold Churgin (the shoe temple of Alberta) and was mesmerized by the artistry, elegant form and stunning diffused light it emits into a space.
Fabrics by Tricia Guild Creator of Designer’s Guild, Tricia Guild is renowned for combining vibrant colours and large-scale patterns in her fabrics. I am in the process of having a custom settee built with Designer’s Guild fabric, which will be the perfect juxtaposition of traditional forms and modern elements.
Ganesh sculpture This sandstone piece came to me by means which can only be explained as kismet. I am inspired more by the piece than the icon it represents. It is a beautiful display of the texture of natural materials, simple yet arresting detailing, and asymmetrical balance.
Swingline stapler An everyday study in all things Art Deco, which functions perfectly and brings ease and pleasure.
Tulip chair This Bespoke chair incorporates stunning form with comfort and a small footprint. Perfect for use in condos, where living and entertaining need to be addressed with limited pieces.
